If your rug has a rubber backing and it s coming apart cut a piece of replacement backing and apply a thin layer of hot glue systematically from left to right where the old backing is undone. Wash and rinse the rug using as little detergent as possible to get it clean. The single sided type generally works best for this type of repair peel the backing away from the adhesive side of the tape and carefully insert the piece into the cut out area smoothing it flat from below so that it sticks firmly to the carpet backing around the perimeter.
